Delivered by Smarta, Gateshead Startup Skills is all about ensuring startups, sole traders and freelancers in Gateshead get off to the best start with the right skills. 

Smarta’s on-demand eLearning platform is the core offering of the programme, delivered with useful resources and online customer support. The eLearning platform covers all aspects of starting your business or self-employment, enabling you to learn about the startup process in your own time. Participating entrepreneurs can also apply for a grant of up to £1,000, which can be put towards your startup costs. 

Gateshead Startup Skills is delivered on behalf of Gateshead Council. It is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Eligibility: Pre-starts and startups in Gateshead only.
