UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £1.2 million for collaborative projects that enable digital twins, data interoperability and cyber resilience in the UK energy networks. This funding is from Innovate UK.

      Innovate UK's Digital Twin Energy Grids Competition supports collaborative projects that enable digital twins, data interoperability and cyber resilience in the UK energy networks. Up to £1.2 million has been allocated to fund industrial research, and experimental development projects in end user or real-world conditions. 

      Eligibility

      Your project must: 

      • have a total grant funding request of between £100,000 and £300,000
      • last between 6 months and 12 months
      • carry out all of its project work in the UK
      • intend to exploit the results from or in the UK
      • start by 1 October 2024
      • end by 30 September 2025

      Projects must always start on the first of the month and this must be stated within your application. Your project start date will be reflected in your grant offer letter if you are successful.
