Are you a County Durham SME thinking of creating a new idea, processes, services or developing new products to help improve your business… or have you identified a problem within your business that requires innovative thinking?
The DFIB grant and support programme offers county Durham businesses a chance to innovate and grow their business. The programme is open to companies that have an idea that they want to turn into reality. You can access a network of experts, attend masterclasses and workshops and apply for funds to enable you to create this product, service or process.
Eligible businesses can apply for one or both of the following grants to support their ideas and action plans.
External R&D grant
SMEs can apply for an external R&D grant between £10 – £50k, based on a 50% intervention rate to enable your business to access appropriate research and development expertise regionally and nationally to develop your innovation idea.
Internal capacity grant
SMEs can apply for an internal capacity grant of £6250 towards salary costs for the first six months, for a minimum salary of £25,000 or above per annum, to provide a skilled resource within your business to take your innovation idea further.
Businesses must be SMEs based in County Durham and satisfy ERDF state aid rules.
