The Business Energy Saving Team (BEST) is a project, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and delivered by local councils, which aims to reduce energy use and costs in small and medium-sized businesses in Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland and Sunderland.
BEST can provide your business with a fully-funded energy efficiency audit, designed to help you identify ways that you can save energy in your day to day business operations, thereby saving you money and helping to reduce your carbon footprint.
PLEASE NOTE: BEST audits are due to end September 2021 therefore businesses wishing to take advantage of a free energy audit of their business should apply by 31st July 2021. There are a limited number of audits and grants available to SMEs who are looking to make investment in energy efficiency by December 2021. Further funding is being sought to continue the programme beyond the current timeframe.
Why should you sign up for an energy audit?
Improving your business bottom line through good energy management has the same impact as increasing sales of your products. Many customers are becoming more environmentally aware, and your energy audit can be a way of highlighting to customers your commitment to environment and sustainability.
