Brexit Preparation Fund

As the opportunities and risks associated with Brexit start to become clearer an increasing number of North East businesses are taking steps to ensure they are prepared.

The Brexit Preparation Fund has been created to provide funding to help North East SMEs access external expertise to deliver business improvement projects that can:

  • Maximise Brexit-related growth opportunities
  • Mitigate Brexit-related risks that may impact future business growth

About the Brexit Preparation Fund

Grant funding is available to eligible trading businesses based in the following areas:

  • County Durham - businesses can get up to 40% funding for projects costing between £2,500 and £8,000
  • Northumberland or Tyne & Wear - businesses can get up to 35% funding for projects costing between £3,000 and £8,000

Please note – Applications are expected to be assessed on a competitive basis

For those looking to access new non-EU markets

  • Export planning consultancy
  • Design and development of Marketing collateral

For those currently trading across the EU or in supply chains that include EU transactions: line needs to unbolded – second set of examples

  • Risk assessment – analysis of contract exposure
  • Process development – developing and implementing measures to adapt to new requirements
